The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is one of 18 schools and colleges that make up the University of Georgia. Small, upper-level classes allow students to connect easily with professors. Students can study plants, animals, business, communication, teaching, food science and the environment. The college focuses on providing a safe food supply, clean environment and a better life for everyone. CAES has classrooms, laboratories and facilities on UGA campuses in Athens, Griffin and Tifton, Georgia.
Through a variety of degree programs, students are prepared for careers in agriculture and environmental sectors through business, government, education, management, finance, research, processing and manufacturing.
Our scientists develop and test new equipment, grow new crop varieties, investigate new technologies and support fast-growing food and fiber industries, which are Georgia's top economic drivers.
UGA Extension was founded to take research-based agricultural information to the people. County agents and specialists cover topics and programs including agriculture, the environment, homes, families and 4-H youth development.
